It was a BUSY week in 2nd grade!
Our factory/market experience is complete! Students worked to earn income, budgeted, and got to shop til they dropped today in the cafeteria. BIG thanks to Mr. Hudson, Mrs. Hartman, and Mrs. Brunson for stopping by our factory to see what we've been up to!
In reading we completed our study of characters and how they respond to challenges. We read Julius Baby of the World and Ada Twist Scientist.
In writing, we got SO MUCH done on our narratives. Students planned out hooks and closings, transferred their ideas to a planning sheet, and drafted in their notebooks. Next week we will revise, revise, revise!
In math, we concluded our study of geometry (classifying shapes/parallel lines) and began learning about arrays. So far, we know that arrays are a way to organize objects or information into columns and rows. We know that all columns must be equal to other columns, and rows equal to other rows. We pretended to plant gardens at school as we learned to draw our own arrays!
