This week we really focused on perseverance as a part of our positivity project! We read the book I Am Enough and learned about what it means to love yourself even while you're working towards a goal or maybe facing some obstacles.
In reading we practiced finding the main idea of texts and then searching the paragraphs to find supporting details for that main idea. We used a tree map to display our thinking.
In math we continued learning about partitioning and fractions! For a fun end of the week celebration, we made fraction rainbows to show off that we know that fractions are a part of a whole.
In science we worked with Mrs. Zaccagnini's class to create songs about SCES and then perform them for our peers. Keep an eye on our dojo story for their performances!
In writing we began a new type of piece- persuasive writing! After examining persuasive writing with the text Hey Little Ant, students are trying their hand at persuasion by writing ME a letter. They will try and persuade me to make some change in our classroom- try something new, or even get rid of something they don't enjoy!
